Cozy At-Home Activities

Looking for some activities to do while staying at home? If you are like me and like to stay home most of the time or even work at home all day, you may want to find something to do on your breaks. I created a list of my favorite activities, many budget friendly.
- Drawing: You don’t need to be Picasso to draw, whether it’s traditional pencils or digital drawings. I personally like drawing cute characters, scenes, or doing dtiys from Instagram. I get a lot of my ideas from Pinterest as well.
- Scrapbooking: There is “no one” way to scrapbook, which is the beauty of this unique hobby. Come up with a theme, find your photos, print material, and/or artwork, and get started. Or just like digital art, you can create digital scrapbooks or collages.
- Video Games: I play video games such as Roblox, Hayday, Genshin Impact, Infinity Nikki, and many more. Hayday is my go-to game in which I check every day. I find it very relaxing and exciting to be apart of a group. I’m actually part of my mom’s group. :) Oh, and in one of my previous posts, I shared my favorite cozy Roblox games.
- Puzzles: Relaxing, cozy, and sometimes challenging, puzzles are a perfect way to spend your day or night. I have one that I will be doing soon for the first time and I’m excited to see how challenging it really is.
- Board Games: Growing up, my family had a board game cabinet. We eventually got rid of most when we moved and downsized BUT I’m working on rebuilding my board game collection. I think they are even more fun and relaxing than video games.
- Card Games: I played Go Fish constantly with my brothers when I was growing up but learned games such as Rummy from my mom. If you are alone, Solitaire is also a perfect game.
- Felting: Whether you’re are working with felt sheets or needle felting, this is a great activity to learn. I love doing it while listening to music, which keeps me focused and calm.
- Paper Cutout: Especially during this Winter season, making paper snowflakes are the most fun. Tutorials online can help you figure out different ways to create unique shapes and designs.
- Paper Chains: An activity that I will be starting this year after many years of stopping. Every year for school, we made them as well as at home during the holidays. It doubles as cute decor as well as something you can do with your children.
- Coloring: No skilled required and only a coloring book or pages and colored pencils, crayons, or markers in a variety of colors. My favorite thing as a kid that I still enjoy today.
- Baking: One of my favorite at-home activities is baking. I started while I was in high school and having my own bakery was a past dream of mine. I try to bake something new every once in a while and would love to have my own baking cookbook someday.
- Cooking: I could most days. Anything and everything and this year I will try a ton of new recipes for my husband and I to try.
- Polymer Clay: An oven is required or even a toaster oven (but not preferred). Other than that, I love working with polymer. It’s easy to mold and has many cute colors to choose from. I’ve made jewelry mainly but want to try making jewelry dishes and cute decor this year.
- Air Dry Clay: No oven? Air dry clay is perfect. Within a few hours or overnight, your Clay pieces will harden and ready to paint, glaze, or leave as is.
- Listening to Music: A basic necessity of life. These days, my go-to playlist consists of Harry Styles, Taylor Swift, Jonas Brothers, and Sabrina Carpenter
- Watching Films: Always been a cinephile and when I have nothing else to do or just don’t know what to do, I find a movie to watch. Old or new, I figure out what mood I’m in, get a blanket and snack and I’m ready to watch. Before Winter ends, check out my ultimate cozy Winter film list!
- Watching TV Series: I’m really interested in binge watching tv series lately and also have a list of my favorite cozy Winter watches that I posted a few weeks ago to check out.
