Guide to Celebrating A Perfect Birthday

My birthday was Saturday, the 22nd and the whole weekend was just perfect. ❤️

Most of what my husband and I did to celebrate was on Friday. After work, we went out to eat at a Mexican restaurant, got donuts and coffee, then went back home to watch some scary movies.

Then on my actual birthday, we cleaned the house, felt so much cleaner and better with it that way. Then we ate some snacks and watched some more Jericho and then more scary movies.

On Sunday, even more scary movies! 😂 We also went over to my in-laws and hung out there for a bit, ate some shrimp my brother-in-law made, while the both of them played games and I scrolled through Instagram.

It was actually pretty chill. Exactly what I wanted. I also had an earlier birthday celebration a few weeks ago when my mom was visiting and went out to eat before going back to my in-laws for some cake. It was also sort of a going away celebration for my mom since she flew back to the US a few days later.

My birthday every year is always completely different, especially nowadays but we always find something fun to do to celebrate. So if you are looking for some birthday celebration ideas, here is a list of activities we’ve done together and other fun ideas.

  • Going out to eat: Whether it’s a fancy restaurant, fast food, or street food, any food out of the house makes for a special birthday meal.
  • Watching movies and/or series: Any time for me is a good time to sit down and watch my favorite or even new movies and shows. Or if you’d like, have a movie theater date with your significant other or loved ones.
  • Going to a zoo or aquarium: Checking out some cute and exotic animals can be a fun birthday adventure.
  • Going on a picnic: Something I will do very soon is go on a picnic with my husband. If you were born in warmer or cool weather, a picnic is perfect and relaxing to spend your special day. Bring a blanket, food, drinks, and an activity to do together.
  • Learn something new: Take a painting class or finally start learning that musical instrument you have been dying to try.
  • Riding bikes: I love riding bikes in the Spring time. If you have a park nearby or a trail to go on, take out your bike or rent one if need and spend an hour or more riding around, getting some fresh air and exercise.
  • Visiting Somewhere New: it could be anywhere. New coffee shop or restaurant, new town or city or even part of town, or better yet, a new country if possible. Wherever you go, visiting a new place is a great birthday celebration.
  • Having a Night In: In general, I love spending time at home so if that’s also you, having a night specifically on your special day is a perfect option. Watch movies, order in, get some snacks for later, sleep. Whatever you do, dedicating your entire day to either yourself or with a loved one at home can make for a cozy, relaxing, and special birthday.
