Staying Cozy While Sick In Bed

For the past few days I’ve been feeling under the weather with a sore, swollen throat. I took off some of my work since I literally have to talk the whole time for it, haha. After going to the clinic to get medicine and back home again, I thought I should figure out my schedule, even if I’ll be in bed most of the day.

Just because you are sick, doesn’t mean you can’t still be cozy and comfy and it doesn’t mean you can’t keep busy.

Of course, if you are too sick to do much, a long nap and drinking plenty of fluids will do as well but if you are looking for something to do to keep yourself occupied, than this is the list for you.

  • Having plenty of fluids and nourishing food: Grab your favorite drink such as a hot coffee, cup of water, or some juice (apple is great for sick days), as well as some yummy food such as soup, porridge, toast and even some snacks.
  • Grabbing the essentials: Everything you need for the day, make sure you have it. A heating pad, the TV remote, tablet or laptop, phone, books, journal, and of course, a cozy warm blanket and squishy pillows.
  • Getting comfy and cozy: Wear something comfortable, get in bed, wrap yourself up in blankets, and take out whatever activity and foods you prepared. Making sure you have everything you need around you at arms length, as well as keeping yourself physically comfortable can help you stay cozy all day.
  • Finding something good to watch: The one thing I always do when I’m feeling under the weather is finding something interesting to watch throughout the day. Whether it’s a good film or series you can binge, it can keep you entertained as well as help you to keep your mind off of being sick.
  • Getting lost in a book: If you are more into books, then finding one that you can’t put down is a must when staying in bed. I prefer fantasy with adventure or mystery but any reading material such as non fiction works or even magazines are also great.
  • Begin journaling: If you don’t already, journaling is a good way to write down your thoughts and describe how you’re feeling during this unfortunate time. You can also mix it with scrapbooking and decorate your pages with cute photos, stickers, or washi tape for some added creativity.

I hope you are feeling better soon but until then, take this time to relax as much as you can, stay cozy in bed, and let me know what you like to do on sick days.
