Guide To A Perfect Cozy Spring

I am so excited for Spring this year. Although it’s still cold most days here and I heard it’s supposed to snow at least one more day this month, I am preparing as much as I can for warmer weather, smell of flowers, cherry blossoms outside my window, and picnics with my husband.
The only thing I’m not looking forward to is of course pollen! I, like many others, have an allergy to pollen so some days I can’t even open my windows or leave home. BUT that is not stopping me from enjoying myself this year. 🌸
So I came up with a list of activities to do this Spring! Enjoy and I hope this list inspires you this season.
- Opening the windows for fresh air: On low pollen days of course. But the beginning of Spring is my favorite time to do so. It’s the perfect time to clean your home and let in some of that Spring sunshine. The smell of the change of seasons is always my favorite.
- Create a Spring wardrobe: Put away Winter outfits and accessories and bring out the lighter colored and literally lighter clothing. With the weather getting warmer and the sun coming out, you’ll want to feel and look good too.
- Bringing the outside in: Pick some flowers or buy them at a flower shop and display them in your home to brighten your space. I love a variety of colors and types of flowers and the floral scents make me so happy.
- Lighting a scented candle: If you are not one for flowers, light a candle. It could be floral or other natural scents or even fruity. Having a good scent throughout your home can make you feel cozy, relaxed, or even motivated and cheerful. It’s also perfect for calm lighting during the evenings.
- Fruit, yogurt, and smoothies: I love fruit more than anything and Spring is the perfect time to have it. Whether it’s in yogurt, smoothies, or even cereal, it’s refreshing, healthy, and yummy!
- Fruit jams, jellies, and marmalades: Another way of having fruit is in homemade fruit preserves. My favorites are strawberry and grape but there’s also orange, blueberry, apple, raspberry, and many other fruits. Spread on toast, use in sandwiches, or even add them to desserts.
- Having a picnic: The best season for picnics is in the Springtime. Not too hot, not too cold, and you can prepare your own meals to bring along with you. Make some sandwiches and salad, bring some fruit and veggies, and make some fruit drinks for a refreshing meal. It’s also a great time for activities such as painting, reading, drawing, listening to music, or even flying a kite or blowing bubbles.
- Planting in the garden: Fruits and veggies, flowers, or herbs, starting a small garden outside or in your home can be a fun new hobby or just a way to grow your own foods and flowers.
- Going for a nature walk: Alone or with a loved one, get some fresh air and exercise this Spring and take a walk outside. Around the neighborhood, by a lake, on a trail, or even to the store down the road.
- Water activities: Go swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, or anything that involves water on those hotter days. They’ll cool you off while you’re having fun.
- Riding a bicycle: Take your bike and go on a trail or take a trip to the store. It’s great exercise and a fun activity to do with friends or family.
There you have it! Some fun activities to do this Spring and I hope you have a great one with whomever you’re spending it with. 🌿
